Our wine without added sulfite, the C’est pas G… 2018, was rewarded with the ‘Académie des Vins et de la Gastronomie Française.
He got the palme d’or with the jury chaired by Gilles Eychenne.
This sulphite-free cuvée is also supported by the environmental commitment given to him by the owner of the Château Tourteau Chollet.
From the acquisition of the vineyard in 2001, he understood that the climate deregulation was a reality and that it would pass to Bordeaux by a rise in temperatures.
It is for this reason that in 2002 he planted almost 4 hectares of « Petit Verdot », varietal known from Bordeaux – but less so for the general public – which used to ripen only in the hottest years and which today produces ripe and balanced wines.
Ten years later, he continued his climatic « restructuring » by planting Malbec, well-known grape from Lot and Argentina, which withstands dry periods much better than Merlot Bordelais.
This is why, this wine composed in equal parts of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot, comes to denounce the global warming. It is also a marker of the environmental approach of Château Tourteau Chollet and its commitment to the environment(stopping weedkillers, stopping chemical fertilizers, planting hedges, setting up an orchard, biological control through sexual confusion, …)
Its intense aromas will accompany frank discussions with friends or family. To accompany your aperitifs or initiate discussions at the table, it will be the ideal partner to stir up words and passions.
